MARCH Reading MADNESS
Made possible by:
Kick-off the month of March READING Madness with Read Across America Day! Farallone View celebrates Dr. Seuss’ birthday right, by holding a school-wide “read-in” before returning to our classrooms with an esteemed member of our community who will read a book and visit with the classrooms. It’s a fun way to start the week!
Month Long
The Reading for Whiskers Book Tower is BACK! Turn in those Reading for Whiskers reading logs and let’s see how tall that book tower will grow during the month of March. Students who turn in 5 reading logs during the month of March will earn a Pizza Party with Whiskers!
Date: TBD
Ever wondered what you’d look like with a little scar on your forehead? Ever think that a red and white striped shirt would look good on you? How about an astronaut helmet? Well, here’s your day to find out. Dress as your favorite book character and see if you bump into any other Harry Potters, Waldos, or Auggies.
Date: TBD
Bring a book, get a book. Clean out those book shelves and load up on new reading adventures.
Students will drop off books before school and select a new book later in the day.
Our local newspaper is committed to fostering a love of reading and writing among our Coastside youth. You can often find the students of Farallone gracing the pages of our local publication.
In an effort to get a news paper in every students hand, the Half Moon Bay Bay Review has new local student pricing. In addition to this promotion the Half Moon Bay Review will be sending a complimentary paper home in March to spark your young readers interest in local news.
